Gatting back to work: O Worship the King

Gatting back to work: O Worship the King

The growing season in Nebraska is nearly over, and our gardens are almost all put to bed for winter. It is time for me to refocus and work on Liturgical Guitarist again. I've identified around 5 traditional hymns to work on and just finished the first of those candidates for new arrangements: O Worship the King. I cannot find this hymn in any of my Catholic hymnals, but it is common in most Protestant hymnals. I grew up with it in the Baptist church of my youth. It should fit nicely with my Protestant guitar subscribers. I will also use it in the Catholic Church. I'm not the only convert and have found many Catholics recognize and enjoy traditionally Protestant hymns such as The Old Rugged Cross or Nearer My God to Thee.

As I mentioned in my last blog, my new digital book, The Liturgical Guitarist Hymnal, contains 86 of my free hymn arrangements. My goal is to release a 2nd edition with 100 hymns in the future and make that edition free for all who have purchased the current book. O Worship the King will definitely be in the new book, but you can always freely access it here on the Hymnal page of the website.
